Rare it is, you know, that any software rev is built without at least a few Known Issues- generally minor bugs that deemed inconsequential enough not to delay release.
Such is the case with BlackBerry OS 4.1 release 529 for the BlackBerry 87xx series.
In a post I put up on Saturday, you may have read about what has been fixed in this rev. Remember the old line, "accentuate the positive?"
But if you want to know what Known issues are in the "529," you can either read the BlackBerry Technical Knowledge Center document linked to the Read prompt at the bottom of this post- or just simply follow along with us here:Localization
If your display language is set to French and the message status in an email message contains the word "mailbox", the term might be translated as "voicemail". Impact: Some terms might not be translated correctly if your display language is set to French. Workaround: None.
If your display language is set to German, the menu items for disconnecting from a conference call might not be translated correctly. In addition, if you type an incorrect SIM card PIN code, it might not be clear that typing an incorrect PIN code again causes your PIN to be blocked. Impact: Some elements of the user interface might not be translated correctly if your display language is set to German. Workaround: None.
If your display language is set to Dutch, some of the security options and information on the Profiles screen might not be translated. All of the AutoText entries appear in English. In addition, the word for "on" is translated incorrectly in several different options. Impact: Some elements of the user interface might not be translated or might not be translated correctly if your display language is set to Dutch. Workaround: None
If your display language is set to French and you respond to a meeting invitation as Tentative, the reply might display the English word Tentative in the Subject line. Impact: The French translation of the word Tentative might not appear in the subject line of your reply to a meeting invitation. Workaround: None
MMS
If you are using the BlackBerry Dimension Zen theme, the Messages application might open after you send a multimedia message service (MMS) message or a short message service (SMS) text message from the phone. Impact: After you send an MMS or SMS text message, the Messages application might open instead of the SMS text and MMS messages program. Workaround: None.
Themes
If your wireless service provider is Cingular and you load new software onto your device, the Cinguar theme might not be set as the default theme for your device. Impact: The Cingular theme might not be the default theme on your device. Workaround: None.
If you are using the BlackBerry Today theme, there might be a gap between the time and subject of the messages on the Home screen. Impact: You might not be able to read the full subject of a message. Workaround: None.
User Inteface
In some cases, you might receive an uncaught exception error when you remove your device from the holster. Impact: You might receive an uncaught exception error upon removing your device from the holster. Workaround: None.
Miscellaneous
If you use the javaloader or axloader to install new applications on your device with 4.1 device code, you might receive an error message when the device restarts. Impact: You might receive an error message. Workaround: None.
If you are connected to a Bluetooth® enabled headset and a Bluetooth GPS puck, after some time, the connection between your BlackBerry device and the Bluetooth enabled devices might be lost. Impact: Your device might not maintain a connection to two Bluetooth-enabled devices at one time. Workaround: None.
