The working release date for the Rogers BlackBerry Pearl 8100 was supposed to be October 26. That's what it says in Rogers release books that Rogers outside account managers tote around.

But then again, enterprise users may get the Pearl a lot sooner.

What gives? Well, here's the swoop.
"I spoke to my corp Rogers rep today (since he always comes by our office) anyways he mentioned that as his Q3 book states 8100 is slated for ETA of October 26," writes reader Chris.

But then Chris' Rogers rep told him he got an email todaysaying Rogers may have it sooner. Maybe as soon as Oct 1 but that's not set yet.

"All he knows is some companies who are heavy bb users and spend big bucks with Rogers wil have theirs by end of September," Chris describes his Rogers rep as saying.

So what's the rush? Chris thinks the build-up (in places like BBHub) could well be putting pressure on Rogers to release the Pearl sooner.

And not a moment too soon, if Chris has his way.

He tells me he's played with a demo, and was amazed.

"Even the MP3s sounded decent which surprised me," Chris says."Now, only if my rep would sell me his demo but he won't he plays by the book."

That's what a good carrier rep does, Chris.
